well i have no lag on oil except for when i have other programs (eg. cod 4) running. i heard that the smoke will lag ur game badly for a quick sec but i aint sure ofc :lol:

right aaa, smoke, also try to turn off particles if you have 'em, my paris lags as hell when i'm in fountain.

for everyone lagging use these settings http://img94.imageshack.us/img94/6295/settingsko.png and remove oil.tdx in data\levels\oil
if you lagg after that you can try run game in window mode or if you have older graphic card try update driver/buy new one or if you have new one try use older driver.
