Demo said that all he did was change the IP of the masterserver from gamespy's to openspy's, so I doubt it. All the masterserver does is distribute IP's, so after joining it's not involved anymore, and thus, gameplay should be identical.

Ye well i believe openspy is just the lobby server. From there on(once you host) the connection is between the host and the other players. The lag usually occurs on the side of the host or the others. Maybe if someone is uploading or downloading on the net it could cause the server to start lagging.

Yeo. Lobby is only to find any hosts.

I have nothing to do with this, I just made this topic so that everyone knows how to play online. Demo made this "patch" and Openspy is hosted by the guys from THPS.us.
