<Note: I think it is first time when we do something like that in thps3 game and maybe even in whole series<interview with good players>,if there were some i am sure it was long long years ago. So i just hope you will read it,comment and like it. I can consider make more of these if you guys like it or others can do it too if you want. I just hope this one won't be the last. Have a good read and don't forget to comment : >
SicK : So for begin tell us something about yourself? What is your name, where do you live in nederlands? What are your hobbies? Lyst: I'm kevin aka lyst aka theisisaintisis, I live in Oldenzaal.About my hobbies.. I used to skateboard, but I stopped because of two reasons, I don't have any energy anymore, because of my disease, which I'll come back on later and my skateboardfriends started using drugs and were drunk all day, and skateboarding alone isn't fun so.. Another big passion of me is music, I'm totally in love with Hardstyle, and I love to produce it myself as well. That's what I'm busy with most next to school. SicK : Last time you told me that you watched some judo tournament. I know that you did some judo . Do u still practice it? Lyst: I'm doing judo for 14 years now, but last time it's less, also because of my disease.I have got the brown belt since my 12th or something. When I was 16 I wanted to get the black belt, but if you get 100 points with tourneys, you can skip the hardest part of the exam. So I got 93 points, and then I got ill. So I couldn't play any tournaments anymore , 2 years later the points were not valid anymore, so I have to start all over again. Allthough I think I'll do the hard part of the exam, because the rest is like 3 years ahead now. I'm also in the gym one or two times a week, just to get stronger for judo. SicK : Ok lets talk some about th now. U still play th3 after all those years i think it is like 6 years already for you . Do you remember how your journey with th3 started? Friend told you about it or you just found the game yourself and loved it? Lyst: In december it's 7 years actually. Well thps3 wasn't my first THPS game, I've been playing tony hawk proskater since the thps2 demo back in 2000 or 2001 (don't know for sure). My friend had this demo on a cd with a lot of other demo's and I borrowed the cd. I really liked thps2, so when thps3 came out I bought it when it was a bit cheaper. Still it was the time of dialup modems and isdn. You still had to pay per minute for going online. Somewhere around 2002/2003 my friend (LoCa) got ADSL and we tried to play thps3 online. What an expierence, it was the first game I ever played online and it was damn addicting, we played every afternoon. SicK : ah ye i started with th2 demo also cool old days Lyst: After that I started skateboarding, because I liked the game so much. SicK : wow nice. What are your feelings about the other th games? Did the series went down after th3 and if yes why do u think it hapend? Lyst: Well thps3 comparing to thps2 was an improvement even though the levels of thps2 are pretty cool. But after that we got thug2, since thps4/thug did not release for pc here in holland, I played it for like 5 days. I thought this game was boring and childish. They removed all cool games from thps3 and it was only about improvs. Well I like to improv, but not all the time. The career of this game sucked so hard that I never finished it, who the hell wants to skate with bigfoot, or race with a wheelchair, it was too much hyped on the Viva la Bam shit. So after a week I went back to thps3, but saw everyone left to thug2, so I started playing diablo2 (LOD) for 8 months or something. SicK : Oldsql and newsql in th it mainly is about how long do you play the game. U think the same? Like newsql play 1-2 years oldsql plays 4-6+ or is it about something else than only how long do u play? Lyst: Yeah, you can't be oldskool when you just started playing, nor newskool when you play for 6 years. But I think I know what you mean with this question, if you look at improv, oldskool players spend more focus on style, while the newskool wants to do a very technical improv. But I think oldskool and newskool isn't the proper description for your style of playing. Same for control zone, most newskool people play with transfers, while back in the days we didn't have transfers so everything was about unpredictability. But in my opinion, it's best to use both aspects. I teach the people from my clan to be unpredictable, by disallowing transfers for a period. After that he knows how you have to predict your opponents move and be always one step ahead. Then he can consider himself if he wants to play with transfers or not. But most newskool people miss those basics, all they know is transfers and that pisses some people off. SicK : cool anserw lets go to another question.Whats your favourite th3 online game<pick one>? What is your favourite level<pick one>? Lyst: Well even though it's overplayed I have to say control zone, simply because it takes the most skills when playing versus good opponents. It involves tactics, speed, unpredictability and knowledge about the levels. CTF and koth are close second/third though. My favourite level is burnside, but that's because airport is played so much. I like small levels, because it's harder to avoid your opponent. But I think airport is the best thps level ever created for teamgames. SicK : Ye AP is great.I see uT is growing all the time but won't it be like 1 team only @ whole th3? I think if there are few good teams it is always better then just one team, so they can fight try to be better then other team and all this stuff. It is about prestige then. Doesn't it make you sad that we ve like 1 team only which matters now in th3 online? Lyst: Hmm i think you miss the point of uT there, if we were about growing we would have had 20 members right now, because every week i get several requests. I founded uT, because there are too few good players and that made it boring for me to play. So I found this new goal for me in thps: talentscouting and training them to become the best. And I must say this is very satisfying, I think if one of our members wins a tourney makes me feel better than when I win a tourney myself. It's just nice to see people grow and gain more respect by big players in this community. I only recruited new people who weren't known as the best players at that time. Wild is a different story, because uT got too big for me to train them all by myself, and wild always helped me with giving some good tips, he joined as second leader, just to make our members even better. And I think it should be easier for other teams, since they can recruit players who are already good (I declined people like blueman etc), we have to search for talents and try to make them better together with the whole clan. SicK : Did you ever fight with anyone on th3? Who was your worst enemy @ th3 online ever!? Lyst: Well, I mostly ignore people I don't like, but I have had some fights with good THPS friends, one example was candy. We've played a lot together, finding all airport transfers with his new technique cdd (fastplant on lamp), but when I wanted to make blu TV, I wanted to use a few new cdd transfers, which me and candy both found. But candy got mad, he said his name should be in credits etc. but I disagreed because it was a teamvideo, and candy was not even in blu. Besides, I had some kind of commercial movie, like you have in cinemas, about Devil Tours (something like stick-it's), I wanted to help him to get more people joining his DT's. But candy didn't understand this, so he and a few others started CAD (coalition against dutch) which was really stupid. If I remember it well, shin had problems with tyrant (tyrant is from belgium but ok) and they started banning us from their servers. While we just wanted to try to tell them, that it's all a miscommunication. But yeah after a few months of war, candy finally understood what we meant and he apologized. SicK : OK lets talk about tournaments now. I always was the fan of them i think they are good for keeping community alive. Are you fan of tournaments too and do you think that we should try to do tours for less known<new> players and <old> wellknown players tournaments only? Or it is ok the way it is i mean everyone who wants just sign up and try to get as far as he can? Lyst: Good question, ofcourse I am a big fan of tournaments, I have organized more tournaments than I can count on two hands. I think in tournaments people really try to win, which makes the level of the matches way higher than those on a normal day. And good matches means more fun for me. I think it's not good to seperate good/bad players in tourneys, because of several reasons. one reasons is that we don't have a lot of people to participate, so we better hold one big tourney than one small. A second reason is an experience i've had with f4st, they organized tournaments just for the more unknown players, which were all won by kev. He made topics about he was king of CZ, slap etc. And in the eyes of the people of that forum kev was the best player of thps3. But when kev participates with the bigger tournaments he never got anywhere. It's stimulating the ego's of some people too much, they already think they're the best in the world. You can have an ego, but it has to fit your skills. And I think there are enough people in tournaments of your own level. SicK : I play more th games<pc> online and i see that th3 pc now has like even more active ppl online then t2<thug2,pc> . Why do you think it hapend<i mean the oldest game is like the most active one now>? < i know there is a huge job of chapter-3.net but beside > Lyst: I think this has to do with the games they play at thug2, because imo you can't do improvs for like 7 years in the same levels. When you're playing improv, you play pretty much alone. While in THPS3 it's much more about teamgames, slapping others, working together. That makes every game different and the community more tight. SicK : Tell me few players who you think are getting better and can be the top of th3 online soon? Lyst: Well one example is love, in my opinion he's already one of the topplayers. Ownish made the same progress in that short period of time, but my feeling says that loves skill will be higher in the end than ownish' skill. Another new talent I'd like to name is noo, we think he can make it to the top very soon. We made an extra spot in uT especially for him. Maybe you think: "you only name your own clanmembers". Yeah well our goal is to scout those talented players and to train them, so those who are talented for me, are also asked for uT. SicK : How long do you think you will still play?Few more months maybe years? Lyst: One cannot look into the future, but to be honest it depends on other players. THPS stays fun to me as long I have a challenge. So if in the next 3 years there will be a lot of good players, I'll probably still will be playing then. But if the level goes down and down like it did the past 3 years, then it'll probably be 1 year max. Oh by the way, let me ask a question to those who read this. If I stop thps3, I'll not continue to pay for c3, so I'm curious if someone is willing to continue c3 or anything similair at the day I leave thps3. SicK : Ok we will wait for anserw then ,lets hope we all will play at least this 1 more year. Ok lets try this now: Lyst: pizza/kebap? -> kebap judo/soccer? -> judo love/hate? -> love'uT BMW/mercedes? -> BMW shower/bath? -> Bath 1on1/2on2 -> 2on2 SicK : Is there something you want to say at the end maybe few words to the fans!? Lyst: I don't have fans , anyway if this is a succes I think there will be a lot more of these with other players as well. I would like to thank my mom dad and blaq! SicK : hah cool thank you a lot for your time man Lyst: that will be 85 euros SicK : ^^.I am from poland man thats like month salary... Lyst: lol CHAMP |
