However he would have landed exactly the same line without manual there. You can ride on ground w/o manual for a very short time and still continue combo. Such a short manuals happen when you have special grind on up/down or down/up arrows. I'm sure he didn't want to do it. 100% valid IMO, assuming that wasn't intentional.
