THPS3 have only one .exe (without the setup).
You tried to start the skate3.exe from the Activision folder?
It could maybe work.

I found it.
Rightclick on the Skate3.exe and go to settings. Then to compatibility (?) and then you can choose compatibillitymode.
I have XP and compatibillitymode is deactivated.
Just play a bit with the settings.

Weird, THPS3 and Vista combined works fine for me. Maybe u need the No-CD crack? Just a suggestion..
